2025 Training Videos (2020 Regulations)

The Coordinator’s Compass: Guiding Compliance Under Title IX

This training provides Title IX Coordinators with a comprehensive overview of their responsibilities under the 2020 Title IX regulations, emphasizing the role’s legal, administrative, and procedural requirements. Participants will learn how to oversee compliant grievance processes, ensure prompt and equitable responses to reports of sexual harassment, manage supportive measures, and coordinate investigations while avoiding conflicts of interest or bias. The training also covers key regulatory definitions, documentation standards, notice requirements, and the Coordinator’s responsibility for institutional compliance, recordkeeping, and ongoing monitoring of Title IX policies and practices.

Vacating the 2024 Final Rule and Return of the 2020 Regulations

Attendees receive a clear, practical walk-through from Andrea Mooney on how the Department of Education’s vacatur of the 2024 Title IX Final Rule has returned districts to the stricter 2020 regulations. Mooney provides an overview of the procedures districts must now reinstate—from definitions and notice standards to grievance procedures, investigations, and appeals. This session equips school leaders with a framework for compliance to avoid deliberate indifference pitfalls.

Not Your Ordinary Investigation: Special Rules for Title IX Investigations

Participants receive clear guidance about the unique duties of Title IX investigators under the 2020 regulations, including their responsibility to gather and evaluate evidence, interview parties and witnesses, and prepare a compliant investigative report—while not determining responsibility. The session delivers the full range of required investigator training, including guidance on impartiality; standards of evidence; how to equitably and meaningfully include both parties in the process; the meaning of inculpatory and exculpatory evidence; how to write an investigative report; the role of expert witnesses; legal privileges; and more.

Title IX’s Unique Roles and Responsibilities for Decision-Makers

Educators gain a detailed understanding of the distinct and independent role of the Title IX decision-maker, who cannot be the same person as the investigator or Title IX Coordinator on the same complaint. The video demonstrates how decision-makers evaluate the investigative report, apply the appropriate standard of evidence, and issue a legally compliant written determination of responsibility that addresses findings of fact, disciplinary outcomes, and remedies. This session also addresses the need for a separate decision-maker for appeals and provides the required instruction on objectivity and independent analysis; impartiality; relevance determinations; the weighing of evidence based on different standards of proof; drafting written decisions; determining disciplinary sanctions and supportive measures; and providing appeal rights.
