Special Education
Special education is an area where many districts are
vulnerable. Our firm has successfully represented districts in
contested and non-contested special education matters, from ARD
meetings to due process hearings to mediation to federal appeals,
including defending 504 complaints filed with the Office of Civil
Rights. We also assist with OCR investigations. We work regularly
with special education cooperatives around the state.
Our firm encourages districts to participate in our preventive
law philosophy by engaging our special education attorneys
regularly in their reviews of special education policies and
procedures under IDEA and section 504.
